Two In & Out raglan sweaters

Two In & Out raglan sweaters

Knitting wise, this August seems to have been a sweater month. Even though our temperatures have hovered around 40 C (104 F) for the most part of the month, somehow I have managed to finish two wool / alpaca sweaters. Both of them were my In & Out raglans, one for me and one was a request from my mother.

The one for my mother is knitted out of Drops Lima yarn in medium grey shade (colour 9015). The yarn is 65% wool and 35% alpaca and it comes in 50g balls (100 m per ball). I have used 4.5 mm circular circular knitting needles and got the gauge of about 17.5 / 18 stitches per 10 cm.

I have incorporated two simple cables at the raglan increases which I think add beautiful detail while retaining the classic elegance of the sweater. The cables are made out of six stitches, first and last are purls and the four in the middle are normal knit stitches that I have crossed every sixth row.

This sweater is a gift for my mother’s 70th birthday later on this September, and since she has tried it during the knitting process, although a bit big on me, I know that it will fit her perfectly.

For the second In & Out raglan, I did not make any modifications and have knitting exactly per recipe.

The yarn is Drops Nord in Fog colourway (08) which is one of my favourite workhorse yarns. The composition of the yarn is 45% alpaca 25% wood and 30% polyamide, it comes in 50g balls and each ball is 170m.
